How many times have you tried a diet, lost some weight and ultimately ended up right back where you started, or perhaps where you started plus a few pounds?
Dolores felt like she’d tried every diet ever created. She’d tried the book diets and the commercial programs. Sometimes she’d lose weight and then yo-yo back plus a few extra pounds.
Ultimately, Dolores saw her 50th birthday on the horizon and knew she had to make a change: for her health, for her son, for herself. The crucial moment came when – on a trip to an amusement park – she felt like her weight humiliated her son.
“The look on the woman’s face as they tried to close the safety bar was painful for me,” she recalls. “I was embarrassed for my son.”
That’s when Dolores decided to have weight loss surgery. She knew she wanted to be fit, not fat at 50. Dolores chose Jefferson’s Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Program and with the support of her Jefferson team, lost 115 pounds.
“It’s given me more energy, I feel younger, I can go hiking and camping with my son,” she says. “I am just trying different things that I always wanted to do but was embarrassed to do or didn’t have the energy for in the past.”
