Despite a diagnosis of stage 3 prostate cancer at 50 years of age, John didn’t give up.
He had three questions:
- What were his chances of beating the cancer?
- Was robotic-assisted surgery a viable option?
- What would happen if his surgeon found that the cancer had spread?
John turned to the prostate cancer specialists at the Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson for answers.
Together he and his Jefferson team went over those questions and many more.
John liked that Jefferson offers a full array of options including robotic-assisted surgery and a multidisciplinary approach where the radiation oncologists, medical oncologists and urologists provided individualized care geared for each patient’s case. He also liked that Jefferson’s experienced prostate cancer specialists have led the way in many treatment advances and continue to advance care through promising and innovative clinical trials.
While John was worried about coming into the city from his Bucks County home for care – particularly for his wife – the father of three now thinks that the decision to come into “The City” saved his life.
With the help of Jefferson, John was able to say “I Can Do This.”
