Point Breeze 5K Run/Walk and Health Fair

purble PanCan Ribbon 584x342 85501057Each year more than 45,000 people in the United States will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, according to the American Cancer Society. Many will be diagnosed with advanced stage disease.

The Point Breeze 5K Run/Walk and Health Fair hosted by Philadelphia City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson and Sky Community Partners promotes pancreatic cancer awareness and encourages healthy lifestyles. Funds raised by the event will go toward supporting pancreatic cancer patients and their immediate family members as well as raising awareness of pancreatic cancer and the importance of early detection.

The Point Breeze 5K is being held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Wharton Square Park in South Philadelphia. Attendees will get information on healthy lifestyles and free, interactive, physical activities and games will be available for children.
